Long life to the Kings though the checks don’t pay we are changing the game everyday
Long life to the queens who had never got the shot I did, but they came and slayed
Long life to the gang in the other other shift just to add a little cheese to the bread
And one time for the legends on the spaceship though you are gone, you will never be dead
Thoughts older than the century
Open heart surgery you see when I’m performing gotta praise me for the bravery
That shook the macho out of a bloke scared to be sensitive, but I know him like a relative
Splitting opinions with geometrical symmetry
I try to be a mirror to winners who lost the empathy
For the less fortunate all for pure reasons
Failed to keep it hidden when they stumble upon secrets, it’s regrets that creep in,
Slipping through the cracks like pulverised rocks in my hands,
As I struggle to cup 'em like breast size
Feeling in ya stomach you’re mistaking for butterflies
Is the birth of the true son of a lie
As good as the grief it hides
Portrayed as liberty you won’t even see from Brooklyn Heights
Missing the bigger picture of that book we like
treating it like Birthday suits under red lights
Long life to the Kings though the checks don’t pay we are changing the game everyday
Long life to the queens who had never got the shot I did, but they came and slayed
Long life to those in the other other shift just to add a little cheese to the bread
And one time for the legends on the spaceship though you are gone, you will never be dead
Next time we link, we gon’ set it off
Play all day, take the next off
They don’t want beef they ain’t Stroganoff
The future’s yours, that’s the trade off
Next time we link, we gon’ set it off
Play all day, take the next off
They don’t want beef they ain’t Stroganoff
The future’s yours, that’s the trade off
Man of the people, the lay and the pope
I left a void in my bloodline, they’re filling with hope
Mileage to show and still got a country to go
My feet wet on the road to get my ducks in a row
Life harder than calculus
I still pick up the pen and expect something miraculous
The opulence of graveyards, battlefields and crayons
Playing medium like seance, gone before the paeans
You mimic the greats you’ll never be ‘em
Me I follow God, in case I have to beat ‘em
Humble like the beginning of caterpillars and beetles
That’s how I passenger seat my Ws like BMs
One step ahead of the foe like Willem
No cash but I walked the line, you saw the film
And ran out in the streets, tried to portray the villain
I guess you need a way to make it thrilling
Long life to the Kings though the checks don’t pay we are changing the game everyday
Long life to the queens who had never got the shot I did, but they came and slayed
Long life to those in the other other shift just to add a little cheese to the bread
And one time for the legends! Though you are gone, you will never be dead
Next time we link, we gon’ set it off
Play all day, take the next off
They don’t want beef they ain’t Stroganoff
The future’s yours, that’s the trade off
Next time we link, we gon’ set it off
Play all day, take the next off
They don’t want beef they ain’t Stroganoff
The future’s yours, that’s the trade off

Her voice is a beautiful instrument, listen you'll see what I'm taking about Great beats, melodies. Not just a great Rap/ Hip Hop album, great album period. BetoR
This album is identity politics before such thing existed, and hits so hard that it hurts. Saw these lads play the Sugar Club as a support act in 2016 and they took the fucking roof off. This album still hits, even if some of the references have dated (Kony) they are still fun (Biggie, Fela Kuti, Chuck D, get shout outs). Such joy to hear Denise Chaila anywhere too! Album Club
